Main responsibilities For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Configuration Management Officer to support the Earth Observation Directorate, assigned to the Copernicus Space Segment projects. Heshe will be delegated to work on specific Projects, and as such heshe will liaise on a daily basis with the various members of hisher Project and work with the Product Assurance Manager and Project Manager, including the following tasks Data collection, extraction from different Corporate applications e.g. Eclipse and from various internal sources and data consistency checking and coherence analysis. Assist in the preparation of project audits. Supporting users for retrieving documents from local DMS, DMSs from external partners andor industry, out of paper archives, other sources like ESTEC library, scanned documents on CDROM or via Internet and others. CADM related support to project design reviews including RID tool support. Tasks related to documentation management, distributionregistration of project documentation. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of adequate configuration control methods and procedures, consistent with applicable standardsrequirements. Providing status data and maintaining a wellstructured configuration record system supporting Configuration Control Boards established for the processing of changes and waiversdeviations. Familiarity with the Agencys internal IT tools needed for the conduct of hisher tasks, such as PRISMA, Eclipse, Lotus Notes, DOORS, will be considered an asset. In this respect the contractor will be acting as focal point towards the project as far as the CADM related tools are concerned. Ideal candidate The candidate should have a Masters in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience Proficiency in MS Office packages with experience of high level Project Administration. Knowledge of ESA Configuration and Documentation Management standards ECSS will be considered an asset. Deep knowledge of ESA administrative and documentation management tools will be considered an asset. Large experience with ESA and Earth Observation projects is an asset. Excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule. Initiative and motivation to perform to high standards in a demanding environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the outside world e.g. Industry. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of other European languages is an asset. Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. They are seeking a consultant to join the PMO for the development of the Ground Segment for a second generation satellite system which is due to launch its first satellite in mid2021. The consultants key tasks will be to coordinate and maintain the GS Project Management Plan, Team Organisation Chart, Work Breakdown Structure, Work Packages, Product Tree and related documents as well as track progress against agreed development plans. The Consultant should have a University degree and have the following mandatory skills and experience At least 3 years performing project management activities preferably on large and complex development projects in the aerospace domain or similar Ability to make synthesis from various written or verbal inputs with excellent English writing skills Computer skills with strong experience with MS Office software Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project etc. Desirable experience includes Certification in project management or in project management disciplines Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes Experience of Ground Segment development andor Earth observation systems.
