Position Reference 670 We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to work in the in the city of Harwell, United Kingdom. Heshe will be responsible for ensuring that inorbit spacecraft platform missions are conducted safely to maximise the useful life of the spacecraft. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Perform changes to satellite operating procedures and associated documentation of changes to their schedules. The assessment and analysis of spacecraft trends and the effect of all spacecraft anomalies. Monitoring daytoday Spacecraft ground subsystems. Liaising with Flight Dynamics FD and Satellite Design Authority SDA to ensure the safe and efficient scheduling of spacecraft operations. Understand and monitor all the spacecraft subsystems through monthly and yearly analysis. Provide advice as a technical expert to Management. Provide review spacecraft inorbit platform trend analysis data. Provide technical support to spacecraft onstation operations. Write, Validate and Technically Review Operating Procedures and associated documentation. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering in relevant engineering discipline SpaceSystemsElectronicsMechanical or equivalent experience. Knowledge of the different satellite subsystems. Previous experience in a similar flight control role operating environment. Use of satellite software management tools. Ability to identify problems, perform root cause analysis and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Ability to communicate effectively and proactively within the team. Ability to work under pressure resilience to adapt to a changing environment. Excellent team working spirit task collaboration with the ability to work autonomously if necessary. Whilst the candidate will primarily work in the UK, they will interact extensively with a larger team in Astroscales Japan Office and may be required to travel to Tokyo as needed in support of Astroscale projects and operations. Responsibilities Lead ASUK spacecraft operations activities, including planning, scheduling, delivery, team line management, and reporting. Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Ground Segment, Engineering, and Programmes. Work closely with stakeholders across global Astroscale sites to deliver the Operations content of missions, and support coordination alignment across the Business. Overall responsibility for Operations documentation, including Operations Plan, Flight Control Procedures nominal and contingency, etc. Provide Operations inputs to Astroscale missions, including requirements, CONOPS, validation, etc. Provide Operations inputs to bid activities. Define, develop, and perform simulation and training campaigns. Support the verification and validation of satellite control systems and the integration of remote ground system equipment. Comprehensive knowledge of satellite subsystems, in particular AOCSGNC or OBDH Operation of satellite ground systems, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, configuration management and simulator facilities Satellite performance monitoring and reporting, including anomaly analysis and resolution in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Can operate in a calm, orderly and disciplined manner during high stress situations. Able to identify problems, perform root cause analysis and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Detail orientated and able to work using own initiative with limited supervision, as well as alongside other team members. An effective English language communicator at all levels with skills to CEFR Level B2 Independent User or TOEIC 700.
