For permanent employment the Software department at OHB System AG in Bremen is looking for a Junior Satellite Systems Engineer for Spacecraft Databases mwd To operate our satellites, a lot of information is needed on ground e.g. how to command the satellites or how to interpret the data coming from the satellite during integration flight. The Database Team develops and maintains the satellite reference database SRDB that manages this data. Your Tasks Collaborate with the different satellite engineering teams and external stakeholders, to identify the data needs for the database Release and schedule planning according to stakeholder agreements Participation in official project reviews with ESA and customers Documentation of database products as defined in ECSS Manage data workflow towards internal and external customers To assist the satellite and operations team using SRDB and its products To populate the SRDB with the identified data To track the validation of SRDB data To participate in improvement of the utilization of the SRDB Your Qualifications You have a degree in Informatics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or comparable qualification Ideally you have gained first experiences in softwaredatabase development You work accurately, carefully and independently You have good communication skills You are a fast learner with a good technical understanding You are fluent in written and spoken English

For our activities at ESAESOC, we are currently seeking to employ highly motivated and enthusiastic Aeolus Spacecraft Operations Engineer to work with Aeolus payload chain, including the preparation and validation of the FOP, commissioning plan and payload operations mission planning. Also to perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Typical activities shall cover the following tasks Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Critical Operations Preparation of and Participation in the Commissioning Phase General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis. Ideal candidate Essential Requirements Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, with emphasis on the Payload Hands on familiarity with operational tools MCS, Simulator, DB browser, MOIS or equivalent tool Handson familiarity in SVT and flight procedures development Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting Coordination skills with internal Flight Control Team, and external ESRIN payload data centre, Satellite developer, simulator developer parties Fluency in English. We are looking for an experienced Engineer mfd in order to fulfill the duty of Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE to work in Oxfordshire, UK The specific responsibilities include Mission preparation, LEOP and commissioning phases Preparation and execution of the operations including prelaunch, LEOP and commissioning phases. Review of the existing infrastructure and mission systems and define system and subsystem requirements for the Mission Operations Centre. Define, prepare and execute ground segment validation tests including acceptance tests, system validation tests and ground segment system tests. Prepare and execute spacecraft operations for nominal and contingency cases including contribution to the operational products such as Flight Operations Plan, Operations Concept, Operations Reports and Database. Analysis and report on spacecraft and ground segment performance. Interface with project group and industry for technical matters and review of spacecraft design, interfaces to the ground segment and operations documentation. Preparation for, and participation in, the System Validation Tests SVT. Preparation of SVT specific procedures and writing of SVT reports Identification, recording, investigation and progression of spacecraft and groundbased anomalies during the SVTs, simulations campaign and LEOP. Preparation for, and participation in, the simulations campaigns. Participation in the LEOP Contribution to the postLEOP reports. Mission routine phase Planning and execution of satellite routine operations, both online and offline. Performance of routine and contingency operations as required. Planning and execution of specific special operations. Prepareconductreport on any special operations manual activity, engineering activity, in flight testing, etc. incl. compilation of the weekly operations report. Analysis and reporting on spacecraft and ground segment performance. Perform system and subsystem andor instrument daytoday monitoring and longterm trend evaluations. Perform health status assessment, including anomaly investigation, tracking followup. Support ground segment corrections or improvements. Updating procedures and systems following satellite failures or new requirements. Maintain the relevant procedures of the Flight Operations Plan. Support a regular oncall service. Interface with other internal and external teams. Essential Skills and experience University Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences Two to three years experience in a similar role. Good general knowledge of spacecraft systems. Solid understanding of test procedures, equipment and tools background. Good spacecraft systems knowledge on a subsystem level. Familiarity with operational environments. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. Fluent in English, both in speech and writing. Systemminded and a teamplayer. Proactive and confident personality with good persuasive skills. Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision.
