Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer Orbit Routine Operations for Earth Explorers

Position Reference 800 We are currently looking for a Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The key person will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Earth Observation Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. The service to be provided is primarily related to the routine operations of Earth Explorers Aeolus, Cryosat and Swarm. Services may also be requested related to Earth Explorers in preparation phase Biomass, FLEX and other Earth orbiting missions. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Orbit Determination, Prediction and Products Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks. Processing of tracking data. Determination and prediction of spacecraft orbital state. Generation of orbit related products such as orbit event predictions. Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development. Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software lments. Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software lments. Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests. Participation in tests. Setup procedures. Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration. Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics. Skills to apply their knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts. Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Linux scripting languages, Fortran 90 and C. Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams. Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks. Experience dealing with external interfaces. Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. A portfolio of project responsibilities will be assigned each task having the objective of successful development, integration, test, and acceptance of payload performance. Simultaneous projects in various stages allows for a unique and exciting combination of tasks from early development, to onground and inorbit performance evaluation. The principle tasks and responsibilities will include Electrical power processing background, together with a good experience of digital and analogue electronics and control theory Proven experience in the domain of power conditioning electronics together with hands on knowledge of the circuit design of such systems Experience in the development of computer models, especially with SPICEbased simulators Knowledge and experience on High Voltage power conditioning for space application constitute an asset Proven experience in Digital Control of power converters Proven experience in FPGA and microcontroller programming Proven experience in the design of power converters with GaN semiconductors Knowledge on space power conversion systems will be asset Specific qualification requirements Masters Degree in Electrical or Electronic or Physics engineering, as well as experience in these fields.
