We are looking for a fulltime Business Development Manager to join our Business Development Team in Darmstadt, Germany. Business Development Manager 202025 Job Description The responsibility of the Business Development Manager is to develop and acquire new business according to the groups strategy. Activities include market research, identification and monitoring of opportunities, and bid preparation in collaboration with other people in the company. The business development team consists of fulltime and parttime members with different areas of responsibility. The team reports directly to the Managing Director. The Business Development Managers role is very diverse and the holder of the position will get involved in many aspects of Solenixs activities. The position requires creativity, autonomy, an eye for details, very good organizational skills, and initiative. Key Responsibilties Develop Solenix business opportunities according to the companys strategy and in coordination with the Managing Director, the Head of Engineering and the technical teams. Analyse markets and identify market opportunities through monitoring platforms, news channels and networking with customers and partners. Plan, organise and execute business development activities, including following up on tender documentation and executing the endtoend lifecycle of the proposal preparation. Review and support the handling of contracts, financial budgets and legal documentation during a bid. Support recruitment and the evaluation of suitable candidates. Required Skills and Experience Masters degree or more than 3 years of experience in a relevant field Solid understanding of European and international space industry Excellent English skills, spoken and written Experience in project management or business development Broad technical understanding of various domains, including software engineering, data analytics, space industry topics and innovative technologies. The key person will primarily support the definition and execution of RD activities in the technology domains covering Model Based Systems Engineering, Cyber Security and other advanced concepts like complex event processing, Artificial Intelligence, automated software system configuration and deployment. HeShe shall also technically support associated working, advisory and standardization groups at ESA and European level. The key person shall technically monitor the execution of RD activities by project consortium teams and provide technical status reports to the ESA Technical Officer. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Contribution to applications rollout, validation and operations. Contribution to the rollout of engineering initiatives, applications and innovative solutions. Hold workshops with end users, capture user needs, resolve encountered issues and demonstrate consistent implementation to end users. Proactive identification of application domains and use cases for technology developments. Validation and acceptance testing of software deliveries. Contribution to Proof of Concepts prototypes architectural design. Setup, configuration, maintenance and management of applications and environments for solution developments. Use and operation of VMWare, GitLabGerrit and other development environment tools. Use and operation of Docker and container orchestration technologies e.g. Swarm and Kubernetes. Interact with ESA external 3rd party entities e.g. EUD, GSA, DLR, NASA, under agreement of TR. Support ESA from data systems perspective towards external entities, in particular to recommend agreement on technical and organisational interfaces. Coordinate the inhouse and industrial data systems team. Interact with companies of new member states in preparation process for new activities. Support to study, innovation and standardisation, preparing proposal, running approved studies or innovation works, supporting ESA as a member of international Standardisations working groups. Provide training in usage of CICD, container orchestration, and DevOps tools. Develop release approach using automated, containerized deployment techniques. Evaluate new tools and techniques to drive efficiencies. Manage Cloud infrastructure services and accounts. Keep evolving system and application monitoring infrastructure. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in software engineering. Knowledge of ESOC infrastructure e.g. Scos2000, SIMSAT, Egos MPS, EGSCC and operational environment. Knowledge of Spacecraft. Knowledge of Engineering and Quality Standards. Awareness of the technology trends and interest in RT. Familiarity with MDS lifecycle. Requirements management knowledge of tools, e.g. doors. Test management knowledge of tools, e.g. HPQC.
