The successful applicant will work at the core of meteorological satellite operations in Europe as Mission Control Operations Engineer for Telespazio VEGA and provide support to the system development and operations preparation of the MTG mission. The Mission Control Operations Engineer will be supporting our customer EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany and should start latest 15.12.2017. The position is fulltime and permanent. Submission deadline for applicants is 25.10.2017. ResponsibilitiesDuties The design and development of the MTG Mission Operations Facility, related subsystems and interfaces, in particular with a focus on the Mission Operations Facility operability The definition and implementation of Mission Operations Facility subsystem acceptance and MOF system integration testing, in particular with a focus on the definition of operationally relevant validation test scenarios The analysis of MTG specific Packet Utilization Services PUS with the goal to develop operational concepts compatible with the Mission Operations Facility design The execution of Mission Operations Facility system verification and validation activities The definition and implementation of MTG Ground Segment system verification and validation activities, including formal system operational validation, SSVTs, and operations rehearsals The refinement of the MTG mission operations concept in relation to the Mission Operations Facility and its implementation in the Reference Operations Plan and System Operations File, including related documents and procedures, databases, etc. The execution of MTG Ground Segment, Mission Operations Facility system, and Mission Operations Facility subsystem reviews, technical meetings, and scheduling and planning meetings QualificationsExperience University or similar degree Several years of experience working in the operations preparation and routine operations of spacecraft mission control systems, ideally for GEO and LEO satellite systems. Several years of experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems. Several years of experience operating a spacecraft mission control system based on SCOS2000 Essential Skills Experience in using SQL. Experience in using configuration management systems such as CVS andor GIT. Familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning. Desirable Skills Experience as a team leader. CGI are currently seeking Spacecraft Operations Engineers for future opportunities within the European Space agencys Operations Centre ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Working within a small team of highly motivated engineers you will take ownership of a set of the spacecraft subsystems to prepare and validate the Flight Operations Procedures, prepare inputs for LEOP and commissioning timeline and prepare for and conduct System Validation Tests SVT in readiness for launch. During the launch the Spacecraft Operations Engineers, as part of a broader Mission control Team, perform a crucial role in monitoring and commanding the spacecraft in these critical early phases to ensure that the spacecraft reaches its designated orbit in the expected state to perform its mission. As a Spacecraft Operations engineer you will be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including crossvalidation of procedures, test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Spacecraft Operations Engineers are primarily assigned to a particular mission within mission families including Earth Observation, Astronomy, Science and Navigation. Typically you may be called upon from time to time to support other missions within these families, allowing you to develop your skills and grow your career beyond the operational lifetime of any one mission. We are recruiting for an engineer to coordinate and conduct the dissemination of products extracted from satellite data Meteosat, Metop, Jason, Sentinel3 and to support the continued evolution of a variety of data dissemination systems. In this role you will act as the operations interface to both internal and external data providers for the setup of new dissemination services. Additionally you will prepare and maintain operational procedures for the dissemination systems and will configure data flows within the multimission system. Part of your responsibilities will involve managing both the satellite based and terrestrial EUMETCast multicasting services, providing EuropeanAfrican and worldwide coverage respectively. You will also be expected to support the evolution of dissemination systems to ensure that the additional requirements of the next generation satellite systems are fulfilled.
