We are recruiting for an engineer, based within the Flight Operations Division at our base in Darmstadt, Germany. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, supervision and execution of mission control systems operations for all Meteosat Second Generation missions, supporting the provision of associated operational services and participating in the operations preparation for the next generation Meteosat MTG system. In this challenging and professionally rewarding role you will conduct operations of ground systems for Meteosat mission control including planning of operations, anomaly handling and investigation. You will maintain the operations procedures, system databases and other operations tools and products used to support Meteosat mission control systems and contribute to the management of interdependent systems. Evaluation and trend analysis to monitor performance of current mission control systems will also form part of your role, as will coordination, maintenance and monitoring across all our operational systems. You will help manage evolutions of Meteosat mission control systems to increase capacity, performance and efficiency, and to eliminate obsolescence. Looking to the future, you will support the commissioning, operations preparation, and implementation of the Meteosat Third Generation system and participate in the reengineering of mission control systems and operations preparation for the launch and commissioning of recurrent MTG spacecraft. Alongside a university degree in Engineering, Computing, Physics or equivalent you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience experience in operations and maintenance of operational satellite mission control systems, preferably based on SCOS andor Packet Utilisation Standards PUS experience in operations preparation and commissioning practical experience in supporting the development, formal verification and validation testing and operations preparation of an operational satellite system in the area of mission control good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate ideas and issues clearly and concisely an ability to plan and implement activities, including prioritisation according to constraints, interdependencies, and opportunities.
