Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. We are looking for a Senior Spacecraft Operations Engineer. Tasks Thanks to hisher seniority and consolidated relevant experience in the field, heshe will a play a crucial technical lead role in supporting operations preparation for different upcoming missions already contracted to SCISYS, like the German telecommunication mission Heinrich Hertz H2SAT, phases CDE1 and another ESA Science mission phases AB. The candidate will be able to contribute from the very beginning of the project lifecycle with system level responsibility and eventually be a core member of the mission operations team for H2SAT. Heshe will report directly to the respective mission operations manager. For this position, the following tasks are currently envisaged, but the assignments might change during the projects development depending on the operational needs Act as team technical lead for operations preparation for the assigned missions, in continuous coordination with the mission operations manager Provide system level expertise and guidance Review, refine and complement relevant documentation generated during preceding phases Support the development of all the required documentation as per operational phase, according to ECSS standard Develop and validate the Flight Operations Procedures for LEOP, IOT and routine operations Prepare training material and provide training to other members of the operations team Define, coordinate, conduct and document system validation activities as simulation campaigns, SVTs, mission rehearsals, etc. Test and validate all operational items Perform operational configuration management Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Support H2SAT LEOP, platform payload IOT, GTOGEO transfer and final GEO orbit slot acquisition as member of the operations team Essential requirements The successful candidate will have An university master degree in aerospace, mathematics, physics or equivalent A demonstrated and consolidated experience preferably with more than 7 years in the field of spacecraft operations Fluency in English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage We are looking for a motivated and proactive team player, able to work autonomously, showing initiative and selfmanagement skills when performing under time pressure. Experience in using configuration management systems such as CVS andor GIT. Familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning. Desirable Skills Experience as a team leader. Your Tasks Include The Key person shall work in the Operations and User Services Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. The key person shall be assigned and trained to provide operations expertise and support to one or more platform subsystems and or payload instruments, depending on his or her experience and the overall team needs. The key person shall also participate in coordinating the satellite operations activities of other team members and external teams responsible for onboard software management, simulator support, mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a demonstrated experience in one or more of the following Spacecraft monitor and control operations Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level.
