Documentalist Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will be involved in the daily operation, maintenance and change control for records in ESTECs Navigation Directorates Documentation and Configuration Management System. This includes the participation in and support to improvements of the processes related to the use of electronic documentation and configuration systems, management tools e.g. for action tracking and other relevant IT tools. Document registration, distribution and archiving, as well as provision of reproduction services of documents and media Regular review of the status of documents in the different archive and storage locations and align this information in the Documentation and Configuration Management System database Processing configuration controlled document changes and official papers relevant to the activities of the unit Generation and maintenance of documentation and configuration tracking lists Support to the management of the User Account List to the Directorates servers and services Support to users for entering and retrieving documents from various Documentation and Configuration Management related server systems Liaising with industrial partners CADM officers and documentalists for exchanging data and resolving documentation and configuration related issues Provision of paper copies of electronic documents on request, creation of electronic versions of documents and management of original files. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Bachelors degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification with substantial coverage of configuration and documentation management matters Several years of relevant professional work experience Willingness to obtain a Personal Security Clearance Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the task of Spacecraft Operations System Engineer Galileo at our customer ESTEC in NoordwijkNetherlands. The primary areas of responsibility for this service consists in spacecraft operations engineering activities and monitoring of all operations activities executed by the Galileo Operator, including the different phases of operations preparation, validation and execution. The service will be primarily assigned to the System Operations Engineering of the Galileo First Generation but with the possibility of supporting other missions e.g. Galileo Evolutions projects within the Galileo program. The general activities to be provided by this service are depending on the phase of the mission Support Space Segment SSEG engineering activities to ensure operability, in particular compliance of space segment products with operations requirements, including new OnBoard SW versions, user manuals, flight procedures, etc. Production of segment operability requirements for new sc or new sw releases, also based on lessons learned and inflight anomalies, operational improvements, as provided by the European GNSS Agency GSA and its Galileo Service Operator GSOp. Technical coordination of FOC Satellite manufacturer activity in support to corrective maintenance i.e. generation of OBSW upgrades Technical coordination of the ESA involvement in the Operations anomalies handling, nonconformance handling and technical configuration control boards processes in liaison with the GSA and its Operator, Support the GSA in the evaluation and execution of all operations activities executed by the Galileo Operator, ensuring the preparation, validation and execution of operations and plans Followup of special operations, with particular attention but not limited to anomaly resolution cases, including evaluation and reporting of proper execution of spacecraft and mission operations. Supervision of technical coordination between inorbit space segment maintenance activities performed by ESA SSEG and operational validation of maintenance products performed by GSOp including OBSW patches or new SW versions General Flight Control Support Service including participation to System Compatibility Test Campaigns and Spacecraft Performance Analysis as required Contribute to the definition of the System Level Operational concepts and requirements for the next generation of Galileo Satellites along with the interfaces with the ground infrastructure and associated External Interfaces for the different project phases. Participation to Galileo related review panels, evaluation boards, as required. Requirements The candidate needs to show proven experience in the following fields Significant Experience in operations preparation and execution including LEOP Commissioning In Orbit Testing and Routine phases Significant experience in Spacecraft subsystem AOCS Data Handling OBSMand operations engineering Significant experience in system operations engineering to ensure spacecraft operability in particular the compliance of space segment products with operations requirements in the area of new Onboard SW developments, related user manuals and flight operations procedures. Significant experience in the coordination of Operations anomalies handling, nonconformance handling and technical configuration control board processes Experience with integrated planning processes dealing with system and service operations, constellation and mission operations, ground infrastructure deployment and maintenance activities Ability to carry on activities and interact in a complex teamwork environment in a timely manner Coordination with other service providers in operations team player Interaction with other European Agencies GSA and service providers in operations Ability to work independently Additional skills and experience would be a plus Experience in Spacecraft subsystem Power Thermal TTC Payload Familiarity with the Galileo Operations environment Familiarity with satellite control systems including SCOS2000 Familiarity with Service KPIs Familiarity with Ground Segment Deployments, integration and operational validation Familiarity with ground station control processes and scheduling Familiarity with operational simulators Familiarity with ESTEC environment Academic and work related requirements A University degree in a relevant discipline is required. IT Support ESTEC Data Centre Support Service

Client and Location ESTEC is the European Space Research and Technology Centre of the European Space Agency ESA. It is based in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. It is the largest ESA establishment, responsible for the technical preparation and management of ESA space projects and providing technical support to ESAs satellite, space exploration and human spaceflight activities. The ESTEC IT landscape consists of several small to medium size server rooms and two main communication infrastructure centres, mainly referred to as network core areas. In order to cope with the growing demand for effective IT infrastructure and services provision, a new data centre ESTEC Main Computer Room or EMCR has been put into operation during Q12017. This new facility also allows consolidating the various ESTEC server rooms into one, centrally managed data centre. Tasks and Responsibilities Data Centre Management Act as main point of contact for all ESTEC data centre related activities Ensure all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards Provide smart hands problem solving support server reboots, backups, visual inspections etc. Monitor and followup the data centre routine activities Coordinate data centre changes and incidents Trigger agreed procedures when required Perform compliance and risk analysis of data centre activities and manage escalations Distribute and communicate to all teams relevant information to optimize efficiency and minimize risks in data centre activities Ensure that everything in data centre is in line with approved procedures and raise corrective actions when needed Monitor the progress of open actions and ensure timely closure Schedule and coordinate data centre activities in order to improve overall efficiency and reduce risks Inform the Technical Officer when issues arise e.g. capacity thresholds are exceeded etc. Make post implementation reviews and lessonslearnt analysis Perform the continuous evaluation of processes and coordination activities looking for improvements Analyse interlock and dependencies between processes Detect on a regular basis any missing procedures Update data centre procedures when necessary. Data Collection and Documentation The introduction of a Data Centre Infrastructure Management tool DCIM based on the Open Source software open DCIM provides a professional environment for documentation the existing data centre infrastructure and a proper capacity management. The DCIM tool is yet to be populated with all necessary data. A reasonable effort shall be made to capture all data for each device and supporting EM infrastructures. Data Centre Consolidation and Optimisation The introduction of a new ESTEC Main Computer Room allows for the consolidation of the various ESTEC server rooms into one single facility. Support is to be provided to the ESTEC Data Centre Manager to achieve this task in an effective and efficient way. In particular minimising the impact on the IT service provision and optimising the existing setup by IT service consolidation, move of existing services to the ESA Virtual Environment ESACloud and decommissioning of obsolete components. Experience and education Hold a relevant technical qualification in the field of IT Systems or Network Engineering ITIL Service Lifecycle Foundation, CNET Data Centre Certification would be an asset Experience in the management, operation and maintenance of critical data centre IT systems and understands the full range of ME equipment in a modern critical data centre environment At least 5 years experience with service delivery and management in the areas of Data Centres and Data Centre Infrastructure Management Passive IT Infrastructures, Data Cabling Plants Server, Storage and Networking Infrastructures Professional and strategic approach to management of works and projects Analytical skills to interpret client requirements and produce desired results Ability to work under pressure Customer focused and respectful to promote healthy working relationship Promotes high level of team working and development of team spirit Sound knowledge of all aspects of Health Safety Strong Technical Skills Strong Communication Skills.
