Demand is supported by the higher polyester fiber prices after they have recently surged. By contrast, viscose staple fiber prices have declined for the second consecutive week in Pakistan. Cashmere prices have slightly declined for medium and broad micron types in September in China, after domestic and export markets have surged in the first part of the year. Goat slaughtering has resulted in lower cashmere production whereas demand was further increasing. Our report offers an overall picture of short-term and long-term trends of cashmere prices with latest export prices for Chinese fibers and yarns (carded and combed). Polyester Fiber Prices in China, India and Pakistan (Weekly Report)

Polyester fiber prices have slowly declined in the last seven days in China, with prices far from returning back to the July levels before their sudden and spectacular surge of August and early September. With cured oil prices now rising to new multiple year highs and polyester intermediate prices therefore finding some strong support, fiber prices could eventually stabilize, in line with an expected rebound of textile production in China after next week's holidays. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.
