We are looking for a Systems and Applications Engineer, who will support the Processing Applications Engineering team at EUMETSAT, Darmstadt. You will be challenged with a large variety of tasks supporting the routine operations of GEO and LEO Earth Observation mission as well as the operations preparation of furtue missions. Responsibilities Duties At our customer EUMETSAT you will be tasked with the maintenance and evolution of the facilities and systems of different Earth Observation missions such as the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS, Jason, or Meteosat Second Generation MSG. This includes a wide range of tasks, from the support of the daytoday operations and maintenance, to the handling of anomalies, upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. Tasks will also contain the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures. You will also be the technical interface to external contractors. The engineer will support activities related to Phase CD followed by Phase E of the MTG Programme covering the engineering approach and means for MTG System performance, analysis in support of verification, validation and commissioning activities. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description Working in the Copernicus Sentinel3 Project Division, Earth Observation Projects Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes and reporting to the Sentinel3 Project Manager, the Mission, System and Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall analysis, specification and implementation of the Sentinel 3 system and mission requirements, as well as for the preparation for its operations during all phases up to and including inorbit commissioning and support to the routine operational elements. This includes all development and validation activities related to onboard software. Furthermore, he will constitute the main interface point between the ESA Sentinel3 Project and EUMETSAT for the implementation of the ESAEUMETSAT Sentinel3 cooperation agreement.
