The tasks of the key person will typically include Maintenance and Evolution Activities o Reengineering activities analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateoftheart technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. o Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenancedriven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. o Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. o Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level. o Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts I tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. o Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, deliverv acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation in technical reviews, participation in factory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. o Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation of test data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. o Software support software support to the endusers of the application software. o Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. o Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. o Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Support to new Missions PhaseB activities Requirements engineering o Participation in the functional analysis and decomposition of the Ground Segment requirements in the domain of Flight Dynamics System. o Support the definition of Ground Segment requirements in the area of the Flight Dynamics System. Participation in workshops and review meetings. Interfacing with Operations to consolidate the operational concept in the Flight Dynamics System requirements. o Support the identification of the verification method and initial test cases for the Flight Dynamics System requirements. o Incorporate the reuse of the EUMETSA T Flight Dynamics System kernel products in the Ground Segment requirements. o Interfacing with the Flight Dynamics System kernel product experts in the MCA Team to coordinate their contributions to the requirements definition. System Architectural design o Support the generation of the architectural system level design of the Flight Dynamics System as part of the Ground Segment. o Support the production of design models using Systems Engineering and CASE tools. o Support the definition and documentation of all interfaces IRDsICDs between the elements of the Flight Dynamics System and other Ground Segment or external elements. o Incorporate the reuse of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics System kernel products in the Ground Segment design. Support to new Missions PhaseCD activities Support to Flight Dynamics System implementation o Support to the requirement and design engineering activities as part of the applications development. o Participation and contribution in requirements, design and implementation reviews both internal and with external contractors. o Follow the software development by external contractors of the Flight Dynamics System. Support to IV V and Acceptance o Participation in verification readiness reviews and verification testing campaigns both internal and with external contractors. Technical coordination of the parallel activities involving the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics Systems for LEO missions o Support to the technical coordination of all the activities in the team where the EUMETSAT LEO Flight Dynamics Systems are involved. These activities comprise at the moment the maintenance and evolution for missions under routine operations, reengineering activities and the reuse of the EUMETSAT Flight Dynamics System in new Programmes. Requirements 1. Domain Skills o Knowledge of the analytical principles for orbit determination and control of LEO spacecraft. o Experience in the definition of software requirements, architectural design, implementation and maintenance of Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems in the context of LEO missions based on the ESAIESOC NAPEOS Navigation Package for Earth Observation Satellite. 2. Software Development, Verification Maintenance Skills o Experience in the full cycle of development and maintenance of application software, preferably for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems, following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation, corrective and evolutive maintenance activities. o Experience in IV V integration, verification and validation activities for Flight Dynamics Systems following formal engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, system and subsystem integration, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports and anomaly tracking. 3. Software Engineering Skills o Experience in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented 00 approach including design patterns. o Experience in designing and developing software applications using Java and related technologies. It would be a distinct advantage for the key person to have knowledge andor experience with some of the following 4. Domain Skills o Experience with software development and maintenance of Tools using the Orekit space dynamics library. o Experience in integration of Flight Dynamics Systems with Mission Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAIESOC. o Experience in integration of Flight Dynamics Systems with Mission Planning Systems. o Experience with support to operations for Satellite Flight Dynamics Systems. 5. System Maintenance Skills o Experience in being the technical point of contact for contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance. 6. Software Technology Skills o IBM DOORS requirement management Tool. o Experience in the usage of software CASE design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect andor MagicDraw. o Experience in developing software applications using interfaces to relational database management systems RDBMS and experience with data model design for RDBMS. o Unified Modelling Language UML for software design. o Linux Operating System. o XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT andXPath. o Experience in designing, developing and maintaining software client applications using Eclipse as HMI framework Rich Client Platform. o Experience in designing and developing component based software applications using formal techniques e.g. OSGi. o Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language. Academic and work related requirements A University degree in engineering, physics, or software domains is required. Perfect command of English, verbal and written.
