DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Cristina was located near latitude 20.4 North, longitude 118.3 West. Cristina is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph (26 km/h). A westward to west-northwestward motion at a similar forward speed is expected into early next week. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast to begin soon and Cristina is expected to become a post-tropical cyclone early next week. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb (29.33 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None. A tropical wave located near the Gulf of Tehuantepec is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
