Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the HE Space team of experts at EUMETSAT, you will support the ongoing satellites routine operations in the longer term, also the operations preparation of future Low Earth Orbit missions and will have the following responsibilities Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configurationcontrolled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Provide inputs and or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Spacecraft inorbit monitor and control operations of a LEO Earth Observation satellite Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Development and validation of spacecraft operations procedures Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities Programming language such as C, Visual basic, Software package such as MATLAB, SPICE, IDL, PVWAVE Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
