We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position PA and Safety Support Engineer mf ENGSERVPAE201502 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. You will support the ESA PA Safety Manager for designated projects in conducting, monitoring assessing the implementation of the PA Safety Programme. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Supporting the MetOpSG Meteorological Operational Satellite Second GenerationProduct Assurance Safety Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Programme for the MetOpSG Project and deputising for the Product Assurance Safety Manager as required. Supporting the MetOpSG PAS Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Programme for the MetOpSG Project and deputising for the PAS Manager as required. Supporting the Tender Evaluation Process ESA Best Practice review approval of the PAS aspects of ITTs, evaluating proposals submitted in response to ITTs and supporting the selection of contractors for the project. Actively participate, and represent ESA, in the Design Review Process at System, Instrument and Unit Level. Support the Risk Management and Configuration Management. Processes within the ESA Project Team, including the disposition of Request for Deviations and Request for Waivers RFDs RFWs. Supporting the PAS Manager to ensure the effective implementation and execution of the nonconformance identification and reporting mechanisms within the contractor supply chain and confirm the correct and formal closure of NCRs. Together with the Satellite Prime and the Instrument Primes, review ESA Alerts for potential impact to the MetOpSG project and, internally, the ESA IPNs Internal Problem Notifications, ensuring they are formally addressed and closedout. Support the Satellite and Instrument Primes in monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities using manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection points MIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, test review boards TRBs and, where necessary, quality assurance audits. Assist the PAS Manager in ensuring that all formally delivered items within the Project supply chain conform with requirements using formal acceptance reviews Delivery Review Boards DRBs. Produce reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participate in progress meetings, when needed and reporting on project PA status. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in a relevant discipline, minimum 10 years of experience in the space sector, including 5 years experience in Product and Quality Assurance. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 is an asset. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Controlling NCR Waivers Problems Critical Items. PA for the verification, qualification, acceptance delivery activities. Participating in progress meetings and CCB meetings. Participating in all project reviews, including safety reviews. Reproting project PA status deviations from plan schedule of all above. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in a relevant discipline, minimum 6 years of experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance in the aerospace domain. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 is an asset. Spacecraft Simulator Development, Test and Validation Engineer mf The Mission Our customer, ESA, develops ground software data systems for supporting the spacecraft mission operations at its operations center, ESOC, in Darmstadt, Germany. ESOC requires qualified software development, test and validation engineers to support the procurement, rollout and use of operational spacecraft simulators and related spacecraft mission data systems. Such engineers support ESA staff in the process of developing and maintaining the operational systems in use, for example by supporting the definition the specifications, supporting formal validation of developed systems, and assisting end users, such as spacecraft operators, in utilizing the systems. The Challenge We are looking for a software engineer to support ESA staff with the definition, implementation, acceptance and maintenance of operational spacecraft simulators and other ground software systems used for spacecraft operations. The systems involved are Operational Spacecraft Simulators Spacecraft Mission Control Systems and their related subsystems Mission Planning Systems Mission Automation Data Security Spacecraft Database System The main tasks and responsibilities involved are Specification of the software requirements of these systems such as operational spacecraft simulators in collaboration with the operational users Definition and specification of their internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties Formal acceptance of the deliverables received from industry, ensuring correctness, completeness and compliance to the specifications Support to the spacecraft mission operations staff as required in the various operational phases, including System Validation Tests, simulation campaigns and in software support coordination as part of the Flight Control Team during critical operational phases such as launches Coordination with other internal ESOC or external units, e.g. with the unit supplying spacecraft mission data systems infrastructure and with the unit supplying the IT systems and services Participation in research and development activities in the area of mission data systems This is a full time position, located at the customers site, ESOC in Darmstadt. Junior and Senior Ground Segment System Engineer Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. Telespazio VEGA offers a permanent position based in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany with an expected starting date in April 2015. Application closing deadline is February 12th, 2015. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Ground Segment System Engineers shall support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs S3 Ground Segment maintenance and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination with the other S3 Ground Segments and Core Ground Stations at architectural and system engineering level and also for the related interfaces between those ground segment and within the EUMETSATs Sentinel3 ground segmentincluding the EUMETSAT MultiMission Elements. The Key Persons will be the focal point when it comes to integrating the individual Facilities into a ground segment system, covering all aspects of system integration and testing, including endtoend testing of the overall EUMETSAT s Sentinel3 ground segment including the EUMETSAT MultiMission Elements. Tasks will also contain the maintenance of an uptodate set of design documents and Interface Control Documents for the operational systems and shall perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification for evolutions or major upgrades of the S3 ground segment. In support to operations, the Engineer may also be required to provide on call support as part of a team of maintenance engineers, especially for the S3 commissioning and initial operations phases.
